About Arena Civica
Arena civica Gianni Brera, simply called the Arena Civica until 2001, is a multipurpose sports facility in Milan. Inaugurated in 1807 as the Milan Amphitheatre, in 1870 it became the civic Arena following its acquisition by the Municipality. In 2002 the Arena was named in memory of Gianni Brera, journalist and writer, who died ten years earlier.
